According to TASS, the Ministry of Education has developed a textbook on the Ukrainian language for elementary school students, and a textbook for secondary school students is currently in development.
"The development has been completed for primary classes. For grades 5-9, work is also in full swing, so, as we said, the relevant materials and textbooks will be ready", - Bugayev said.
He added that despite conducting training in Russian, Ukrainian remains to be studied as a native language, as well as other languages of the peoples of the Russian Federation. In particular, the Ukrainian language can be taught in schools of Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. It can be studied as a native language or as an elective. The training format will be set individually in each of the regions. The Deputy Head of the department stressed that the textbook "will reflect all the beauty, all the purity of the traditional Ukrainian language, which in the Soviet period was studied in our best pedagogical traditions".
The law on the study of native languages was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin in August 2018.
Last year it was reported that in the annexed DPR and LPR, in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, a five-year transition to the Unified State Exam is provided. This will allow graduates to take exams in Russian, exams will not be translated into Ukrainian.
