Every second Russian (52% of respondents) believes that the state should restrict riding on scooters and electric scooters for the sake of pedestrian safety and reducing the number of accidents involving these vehicles.

These are the results of a study conducted by the SuperJob job search portal.

17% of the survey participants oppose state regulation of riding on these means of individual mobility.

The interviewed residents of the country believe that it is necessary to limit the speed of movement of these vehicles, prohibit driving them on sidewalks, and also introduce restrictions on the age from which electric scooters can be operated - from 18 years old.

Respondents also propose to prohibit driving scooters without a driver's license, introduce training in driving these vehicles. In addition, it is proposed to install a license plate on each electric scooter and introduce fines for violating traffic rules.

Recall that earlier amendments to the rules of the road, which relate to electric scooters, came into force. Now electric scooters, electric skateboards, gyroscuters, segways, monowheels and similar vehicles are considered means of individual mobility.

Children under the age of seven can ride them together with adults. Children under 14 years of age – only on specially designated lanes for cyclists. From the age of 14, you can ride on such transport on the right edge of the roadway. The maximum speed is 25 kilometers per hour.

On sidewalks and bike paths, you can ride them only if the weight of this transport is not more than 35 kilograms. On the rest – only on the road, where the speed of cars is limited to 60 kilometers per hour.

Recall that the need to regulate the rules of movement on electric scooters arose after the frequent cases of hitting pedestrians.
