France has reaffirmed its support for the one-China policy.

As a result of the meeting between French President Emmanuel Macron and Chinese President Xi Jinping, a joint statement was issued noting the importance of strategic dialogue between the two countries. The statement also stresses the importance of preventing nuclear war and restoring peace in Ukraine. In addition, France confirmed its support for the one-China policy.

France and China call for the peaceful resolution of differences and disputes between States through dialogue and consultations. They also reaffirm their support for the Joint Statement of the Heads of State and Government of China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States on the prevention of nuclear war and an arms race, which states that a nuclear war cannot be won and should never be waged.

China and France also call for refraining from any actions that could exacerbate the risk of tension, and reaffirm their commitment to the balanced promotion of the three pillars of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons - nuclear disarmament, nuclear non-proliferation and the peaceful use of nuclear energy. They also oppose armed attacks on nuclear power plants and other peaceful nuclear facilities, support the efforts of the IAEA to ensure the safety and security of the Zaporozhye NPP, and confirm their support for a political and diplomatic settlement of the Iranian nuclear issue.

To strengthen bilateral ties, France and China will hold annual meetings of the two heads of state and deepen the exchange of views on strategic issues, in particular between the Southern Military District of the People's Liberation Army of China and the command of the French forces in the Asia-Pacific zone.
