Earlier, The New York Times reported on the appearance in social networks of documents about secret plans of the United States and NATO to strengthen the Ukrainian army for a counteroffensive. As the newspaper notes, the documents contained data on the weapons necessary for the country.
The Pentagon has launched an investigation into the discovered documents. The adviser to the head of the office of the Ukrainian president, Mikhail Podolyak, called the published documents a "pseudo-spill."
The Kremlin commented that Russia has no doubt that the United States and NATO are directly or indirectly involved in the conflict in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian side has already spoken about the planned offensive using Western tanks more than once. At the end of March, the country's Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov noted that a counteroffensive could be possible in April-May.
Earlier, Politico reported that the United States handed over to Kiev all the weapons necessary for a counteroffensive. According to the publication, the Ukrainian military will be able to start it in May. On the eve of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that in the near future the alliance countries plan to strengthen military support for Ukraine so that the country can organize a counteroffensive.
Mikhail Podolyak previously predicted that the country would occupy Crimea in the next five to seven months, after which it would eradicate everything Russian on the peninsula, as well as destroy the Crimean Bridge.
