Every tenth Russian spoke out against raisins in Easter cakes

Every tenth Russian said that he does not like Easter cakes with raisins. At the same time, almost a third of them said they were ready to change their attitude to this baking if they did not add raisins to it, according to a study by Yandex Food.

Most of the respondents (81%) said they like cakes. Among those who love this pastry, 70% prefer to add raisins to it. Another 38% named other dried fruits. Cakes with nuts to taste 37% of respondents.

Most Russians buy or cook cakes for Easter. This was noted by 80% of the survey participants. Boiled eggs are eaten by 75% of respondents. 43% of Russians make Easter from cottage cheese.

Among those who like cakes, almost half said that they bake them themselves, or eat those that their relatives have prepared. On average, Russians now spend 318 rubles on cooking this dish. The cost of the finished cake has increased almost 1.5 times since 2020 – up to 193 rubles.

Recall that Catholics this year celebrated Easter on April 9. Orthodox Christians celebrate it on April 16.
