The authorities of the Kursk region have abandoned plans to hold a military parade on May 9 this year. According to Governor Roman Starovoit, this decision was made for security reasons, as he stated during an operational meeting.

"We are approaching a big holiday, a great holiday, Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War. In accordance with the decisions we made last week in cooperation with federal colleagues, those who ensure security in the Kursk region, it was decided not to hold a military parade on May 9 in the Kursk region, given the current situation", - Starovoit said (quoted by RIA Novosti).

Earlier, the cancellation of the Victory Parade on May 9 was announced in the Belgorod region, as reported last week by the head of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov. He added that the authorities are studying the issue of the march of the "Immortal Regiment" and the salute.
