The interlocutor of the agency clarified that after Zakharov's dismissal from the post of deputy, the issue of his resignation will be raised at the April plenary session of the City Duma.

Zakharov himself confirmed the information about the application in social networks. He stressed that he was not going to give up his beliefs, so he had to resign early.

"I thank everyone who helped, supported and even criticized my work and I apologize to those whose orders I did not have time to fulfill. I did not think that I would have to resign my deputy's powers ahead of schedule", - Zakharov said.

According to the publication, Zakharov's move to permanent residence in Germany was reported in the regional branch of the party in November 2022. He actively criticized the authorities for conducting a special operation. After moving to Germany, he was expelled from the United Russia party faction in the city Duma.
