Sociologists of the Romir company have published the results of the next monthly analysis of the consumption of Russian citizens - the "Free Money Index" (ISD).

It turned out that if in February 2022 the volume of "free money" among Russians was 26%, then in March this figure fell to 20%.

The ISD itself in March was 58%, which is 23% less than it was in February, but 1.3% more than it was a year ago.

In this study, the amount of free money should be understood as the funds remaining in the household after spending on the purchase of food, consumer goods, housing and communal services, transportation costs and other services. Whereas the ISD represents the difference between the income of a given household and its mandatory expenses. In addition, to calculate the ISD for 100%, the indicator of January 2019 is taken.

The company's experts attribute these research results to the fact that, as a rule, at the beginning of spring, the share of free money among the population traditionally decreases, as consumer activity increases seasonally, and in addition, holiday expenses of the end of February-beginning of March are superimposed here.

"In addition, Russians can already spend money now, preparing for a long weekend in May", - says Ksenia Paizanskaya, senior director of Romir.
