Russian film critic Yuri Bogomolov has died

The death of the film critic was reported by TASS with reference to his son, director Konstantin Bogomolov.

"Yuri Alexandrovich is gone. It happened early this morning", - Konstantin Bogomolov commented.

Yuri Bogomolov was born on March 9, 1937 in Leningrad. In 1965, he graduated from the Film Studies Faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography. After graduation, he worked at the Institute of Art History, defended his thesis. Since 1998, he has been in charge of the Culture section in Izvestia, and later collaborated with Rossiyskaya Gazeta and RIA Novosti. Yuri Bogomolov has written several books about television, cinema and art. He is the winner of the "White Elephant" and "Nika" awards.
