Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Medvedev spoke about the tectonic civilizational fault

An article by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev for Rossiyskaya Gazeta says that the tectonic rift that has arisen in the ideas about the future in different parts of the world can only intensify.

This rift in understanding the future will continue to deepen, and it does not take an expert to understand that the phase of confrontation will be long and may last for decades. Medvedev warns that the world is now facing the threat of a nuclear apocalypse. According to the author, there are at least two reasons for this.

Firstly, the world is in a confrontation that is much worse than during the Caribbean crisis, because the opponents decided to really destroy Russia, the largest nuclear power. He calls these opponents «complete jerks», but this is their intention:

«The world is in a much worse confrontation than during the Caribbean crisis, because our opponents decided to really defeat the largest nuclear power — Russia. They are, without a doubt, complete jerks, but that's exactly it».

Secondly, Medvedev points to the fact of the use of nuclear weapons by previously «known by whom and where.» This is the absence of a «taboo», according to him.

Earlier, Medvedev wrote in his telegram channel that a possible placement in The use of nuclear weapons may lead to their use. The final decision on the use of these nuclear weapons will be made by «senile people across the ocean.»
