The explosion occurred at the Promsintez chemical plant in Chapaevsk, Samara region. Six people were killed. Two more people were injured.

According to TASS, the explosion occurred during the dismantling of a technical pipeline. The publication notes that there was no fire after the explosion at the plant. RIA Novosti notes that at the time of the explosion, equipment was being repaired in the plant's workshop.

The Promsintez plant in Chapaevsk produces explosives. The plant is one of the largest in Russia and CIS countries.

Recall that this is not the first case of an explosion at chemical plants in recent times. At the end of June, an explosion occurred at a chemical plant in Nizhny Novgorod. One employee of the plant was injured. He has burns on 90% of his body. Earlier this month, an explosion occurred at a plant in Sergiev Posad. Two workers were killed.
