We are talking about the southern regions of the Ural Federal District, as well as in Bashkiria, Omsk, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Orenburg and Astrakhan regions.

In these federal districts, there is a threat of melting rails on railway tracks in four federal districts, informs the All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations (VNII GOChS) EMERCOM of Russia. There are «risks of incidents and incidents related to the shutdown of refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, electricity as a result of overheating of transformer substations, as well as deformation of the railway track».

The thermometer columns rose to abnormal values, for example, in Yekaterinburg, where 40 degrees of heat was recorded for the first time on July 11. This figure turned out to be a record for 190 years of observations. The day before, the air in the city was heated to 38.3 degrees. The situation is similar in Omsk region, where +35 degrees was recorded. Local authorities had to declare a state of emergency in the region.

By the way, on July 3, the absolute temperature record of the air near the Earth's surface was recorded. The average temperature has risen to 17 degrees. A couple of days later, the World Health Organization issued a statement: in the coming months, the world can expect extreme weather events. In addition, the World Meteorological Organization has presented a forecast stating that global temperatures in the next five years may reach record highs. This is due to anthropogenic factors, such as including greenhouse gases, as well as natural factors. These include, for example, the change of phases of ocean currents from La Niña to El Nino.
