According to the Kommersant newspaper, large producers of juices and carbonated drinks plan to increase the prices of their goods by 10-20% due to the fall in the ruble exchange rate. The companies PepsiCo, «Gardens of Pridonya» and MPBC «Ochakovo» are going to increase prices by an average of the specified range.
In addition to the fall in the ruble exchange rate, other factors affecting the price increase are the rise in the cost of imported ingredients, the introduction of an excise tax on sugar, as well as an increase in the cost of raw materials, equipment maintenance and logistics. In addition, PepsiCo announced a possible increase in prices not only for drinks, but also for snacks, the amount of which, according to the article, will be 15.3 percent.
However, a source from a large retail chain suggested that the issue of price increases will be discussed during the negotiations. Also, another source quoted by the newspaper pointed to the possibility of compensating for the increase in prices through promotions and special offers.
It should be noted that after the decline last year, prices for imported pharmaceutical substances are rising again in the country. Some positions have risen in price by 40-100% in the first five months of this year. The rapid rise in price is associated with the devaluation of the ruble and the need for purchases through intermediaries.
