As the head of the Nikolayev regional military administration Vitaly Kim stated, a fire started at the site of the explosion in the city. He pointed out that there were no victims and victims previously, but did not specify at which facility the fire was.

Today, on July 18, air raid sirens sound in the eastern and southern parts of the republic. Local authorities inform about the work of air defense systems in some areas.

The air alert is valid in Odessa, Nikolayev, Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, Kirovograd regions. It is declared in Kiev-controlled parts of the Kherson, Zaporozhye regions and the DPR.

It is reported about explosions over Odessa — from 2:01 to 2:31. Air defense systems were working over the city.

On the eve of the Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Russian Defense Ministry is already preparing a response to Kiev on the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge, committed on July 17. Recall that after the first terrorist attack staged at the facility by the Ukrainian side on October 8, 2022, Russian troops began to deliver targeted strikes on the Ukrainian infrastructure, which led to the destruction of energy facilities and, accordingly, an energy crisis throughout Ukraine.
