Four people from among those missing after the explosion in Sergiev Posad were found alive, emergency services told TASS journalists. What happened to the other eight missing is unknown.
Currently, the analysis of the rubble at the explosion site on the territory of the Zagorsky Optical and Mechanical Plant (ZOMZ) in Sergiev Posad has been completed.
According to the agency's source, «the analysis of the rubble has been completed, ongoing work on the spot continues.» Rescuers found four people who were on the list of missing persons. The fate of eight other individuals remains in question. However, it is not yet specified whether the people found were alive or dead.
The explosion occurred on August 9 in the morning in Sergiev Posad and was equivalent in power to a hundred kilograms of TNT. As a result of the incident, 80 people were injured, of which 15 were hospitalized. One woman died in hospital. According to official data, eight people were missing as a result of the explosion.
The investigation found that the cause of the explosion was a violation of industrial safety on the part of one of the tenants — the company «Piro-Ross», which went bankrupt in the spring. Since 1994, the company has specialized in the production and sale of professional fireworks installations and fireworks, including for the needs of the Ministry of Defense.
