Metropolitan investigators are finding out why, despite the unfavorable weather forecast, a «deadly tour» of underground utilities took place on August 20.

As Novye Izvestia has already reported, on the eve of the bodies of two minor diggers were found in the Moskva River near the Moskvoretskaya Embankment, who died while walking through the sewers during a heavy downpour that hit the capital on August 20. These are 17-year-old Gleb L. and 15—year-old Vika, relatives of Dmitry Markushin, an employee of the Lanit group. When they examined the sewers, it began to rain heavily, the water rose so quickly that there was no chance to escape.

On the morning of August 21, it became clear that the case was not limited to two dead, Moscow law enforcement officers are finding out how many people were in the group and where exactly they could have been caught by the elements, channel 112 reports. According to experts, there could be up to 20 people.

You can sign up for an underground trip on a special website by paying 9 thousand rubles, and tourists are given a flashlight and shoe covers from the UGC (combined-arms protective kit). Moreover, the website states that the tour is canceled in case of rain. However, for some reason this was not done on August 20. Now, an announcement has appeared on the website about the temporary suspension of all excursions to underground sewers, as well as about the refund of money already deposited.

Channel 112 reports that investigators are trying to establish the number, identity and location of participants who signed up for the deadly excursion on August 20. Employees of Mosvodokanal help in the search for potential victims.

Kaanal publishes a preliminary list of the excursion group on the capital's underground collectors:

1. Dmitry Markushin 1976;

2. Markushina Elizaveta 2007;

3. Lagashin Gleb 2005;

4. Schneider Victoria 2008.

The information is being updated, but for now a third body has been found in the Moskva River: previously, this is the 15-year-old daughter of Dmitry Markushin, an employee of the Lanit group of companies.
