From September 1, Russian Post will accept parcels only by passport

From September 1, the Russian Post introduces a ban on receiving registered letters, parcels and parcels from senders without presenting a passport.
This is reported by the telegram channel «Before anyone else. Well, almost» with reference to the data of the postal operator.
To send a parcel online, mail clients will need to connect the «Simple Electronic Signature» service.
Earlier, similar innovations were introduced on public transport. It is now possible to buy a bus ticket to another region only upon presentation of a passport. Security reasons were cited as the reason for such restrictions.
