After the entry into force of the new edition of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), the regulation on military medical examination (VVE) will be prepared for revision. The army will not take young men with diseases that were not identified before being called up for military service.

The chief military medical expert of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Andrei Datsko, said that specialists are currently developing additional amendments to the Regulations on military medical expertise.

- After they are considered, the document will contain a section on toughening the control medical examination and medical examination at the collection points. The Armed Forces should not include people with diseases that, for some reason, were not identified earlier during the growing up of the guys, the expert said.

According to him, the provision on WWE will be adjusted taking into account the new edition of the International Classification of Diseases, which will enter into force in 2022.

- In 2022, the new edition of the International Classification of Diseases will enter into force. Our team, together with the Kirov Military Medical Academy, is conducting research, according to the results of which the Regulations on Military Medical Expertise will be completely revised. And the schedule of diseases will be adapted to the ICD of the 11th revision, - said Datsko.

He explained that the ICD of the tenth revision is now considered relevant.

- Now we have a clear table in which cases the first degree of hypertension is put, in which the second, and so on. Border hypertensive disease existed until 2014 in the schedule of diseases. But with the next adaptation to the global ICD 10 standards, this concept ceased to exist, - the expert gave an example.

Recall that from April 1 to July 15, 134,650 Russians will be called up for military service.
