According to the ministry, reservists improve their military knowledge, skills and abilities in the use of weapons and military equipment, "while showing high training and demonstrating strong military discipline".
The exact number of reservists employed by the army to date has not been specified, but it is indicated that it will be increased.
“At the moment, a decision has been made to increase the number of reservists”, - the Ministry of Defense said.
Last month, Colonel Konstantin Zapatotsky, head of the organizational and mobilization department of the Southern Military District, announced plans to create a combat army reserve of 38,000 people in the district.
A decree calling for reservists for military training would have been signed by President Vladimir Putin in 2015. The decree stated that the timing of military training would be set in agreement with the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
It's worth reminding that for the first time reservists began to be involved in the preparation of the Armed Forces in 2016.
