Oleg Baranov, the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moscow, said that Igor Zinoviyev had been appointed deputy head of the city police. Previously, he was the head of the Internal Affairs Directorate in the Central Administrative District of the capital.

The Internal Affairs Directorate for the Central Administrative District was headed by Colonel Stanislav Sulakov, who since 2016 headed the Center for Combating Extremism.

Igor Zinoviyev was born in Moscow in 1964, has been serving in the internal affairs agencies since 1985, starting his career as a security detective. In 1989 he graduated from the Higher Police School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR. Since 2000 - in leadership positions.
