As reported by TASS with reference to the GKU "Organizer of Transportation", the increased control over the mask and glove regime in Moscow transport, introduced in April, led to an increase in the detected violations by 12%.

"In April, more than 56 thousand violations of the mask and glove regime were revealed, in March there were almost 50 thousand such violations. A strict attitude to the observance of rules in transport allows us to make transport even safer and prevent the emergence of serious restrictions", - the news agency quotes the agency's statement.

As the head of the Moscow Department of Trade and Services Alexei Nemeryuk told reporters, in the near future the authorities intend to further strengthen control over the widespread wearing of masks and gloves.

According to the observations of transport workers, almost 70% of passengers take off their gloves after passing through the turnstiles.

Having drawn attention to this behavior of passengers, in April, the authorities, worried about the increase in the incidence of coronavirus infection, increased control over the availability of personal protective equipment in the carriages of trains of the Moscow metro and railway, as well as in surface public transport.

“Tourists will come to Moscow for the May holidays, so we are increasing control up to 140% compared to regular weekends. We thank the passengers who wear masks and gloves until the end of the trip and we kindly ask everyone to follow the rules, to take care of their health and the health of those around them", - said Vladislav Sultanov, head of the Transportation Organizer.

Passengers were warned that those caught without gloves and masks could be fined 5,000 rubles.
