More than 40% of the monthly rainfall fell overnight in Moscow

“By morning, more than 40% of the monthly rainfall fell in the city, which in May totals 51 mm”, - the Moscow weather bureau said (quote from Interfax).

A representative of the Moscow weather bureau specified that these data were obtained from the main Moscow weather station at VDNKh.

Earlier, the city authorities warned Muscovites about heavy rainfall. In some regions, 30 mm of precipitation was expected, which is more than 60% of the monthly norm. In this regard, utilities have been transferred to an enhanced mode of operation. A “yellow” alert level has been declared in the capital, which is valid until 21:00 Friday. Muscovites were warned about increased wind and thunderstorms.
