Film studio named after Gorky will shoot a documentary about the first lady of the USSR Raisa Gorbacheva. It will include the memoirs of her husband Mikhail Gorbachev, daughter of Irina Virganskaya and sister of Lyudmila Titarenko. The film will also show Gorbacheva's personal recordings.

It is planned that the shooting of the documentary film will end in 2022 - on January 5, Gorbacheva would have celebrated her 90th birthday. Creative producer of documentary films at film studio named after Gorky Anastasia Rytsina says that the project will allow a new look at the image of the first lady of the USSR. The film will tell about her fate, hopes and experiences. “We will see a portrait of an intelligent, stylish, educated, but vulnerable and loving woman”, - Interfax quotes Rytsina as saying.

The film studio hopes for the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture, the application has already been sent there. Also, agreements were reached on cooperation with the Gorbachev Foundation in the framework of the film.

According to Ekho Moskvy radiostation, the documentary about Gorbacheva will be titled Raisa, What My Heart Aches About. A similar name was given to the manuscripts of the first lady of the USSR, on which she began working shortly before her death. They will form the basis of the film.
