According to The Guardian, next month, the actress can be seen in the new project Netflix.

Sophia Loren did not appear on the screen for ten years: her last roles were the characters of the television film My House is Full of Mirrors (2010) and the movie Nine (2009). In November, the Italian movie star can be seen in a new project, Life Ahead, directed for Netflix by her son, director Edoardo Ponti.

This is a film adaptation of the book by Romain Gary, which he published under the pseudonym Emil Azhar in 1975. Lauren plays Madame Rosa, a Jewish survivor of Auschwitz who runs an orphanage for the children of prostitutes in her Paris home. Especially close relations are established between Madame Rosa and her foster child, an orphan, Mohammed.

This is the second adaptation of Gary's novel - in 1977, shortly after the book's release, director Moshe Mizrahi made a film with Simone Signoret, which won an Oscar as the best film in a foreign language. As Lauren admits, she was delighted to take the opportunity to play a character that reminded her of her own mother. Especially in the film of her son, with whom she has already worked twice.

Edoardo Ponti, 46, says the new role will showcase his mother's previously unknown acting skills: the actress "has never had to play characters who lose their minds, fall into a kind of mental paralysis".

The film will premiere in October in Rome and will be available to watch on Netflix from 13 November. The campaign releases the tape at the end of the year, with the hope that it will be able to claim awards.
