The Russian currency continued to fall at the Moscow Exchange trading amid news that US President Donald Trump has contracted the coronavirus.

The dollar exchange rate showed a record jump in a month: at 12:55 pm Moscow time, it went up by 1.42% - 1.1 rubles. The American currency is traded at around 78.47 rubles.

The euro was again more expensive than 92 rubles, adding 1.26% - 1.15 rubles. Transactions are concluded at 92.01 rubles per 1 euro.

Let us recall that on Friday, Donald Trump announced that he and his wife Melania were diagnosed with coronavirus. This happened after the closest aide to the American president, Hope Hicks, fell ill with covid.

Note that after Trump's announcement, world oil prices fell by 2%. The price of December futures for North Sea Brent crude oil reached $ 40.12 per barrel.
