Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Federal State Agency for Health and Consumer Rights) has suspended the import of certain types of products from China into Russia. According to Interfax referring to the official statement of the department, corn noodles, chips and a chocolate egg with a toy inside are called among the banned for import into the Russian Federation.

The ban, in particular, included "Freeze-dried corn noodles" produced by "Yanbian Alali Food Co Ltd" and "Corn vermicelli" (manufacturer: "Anhui WangRenhe Rice Noodle Food Co., Ltd."). Along with them, it is no longer allowed to import into Russia "Corn chips" (manufacturer: "HK Pocky Food Co., Ltd."), "Egg with chocolate cream dessert and cookies with a surprise toy inside (sets for boys and girls, 6 pcs.)", (manufacturer:" Guangdong Funway Food Co., Ltd.).

In these products, experts found DNA of genetically modified maize MON 810, MIR 604, Bt-11, and DNA of genetically modified MON 89788 soybeans. The share of GMOs in these types of food products, according to Rospotrebnadzor, exceeds 0.9%"...

At the same time, in some Chinese products, the maximum permissible concentration of prohibited components is 5 times exceeded. And the manufacturers of the goods have hidden from the consumers the data that the products were produced with the inclusion of GMOs.

The department indicated that there is no information on the presence of GMOs on the labeling of Chinese noodles, chips and chocolate eggs.

In order to prevent mass poisoning of the population, Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Federal State Agency for Health and Consumer Rights) has banned the import of Chinese noodles, chips and chocolate eggs into the Russian Federation from October 11 until further notice. Products of other Chinese manufacturers, when imported into the Russian Federation, will be subject to enhanced laboratory control.
