Russia was able to do what the USSR could not: grain yield in 2020 breaks all records

Neither collective farms, nor state farms, nor fertilizers in 73 years of Soviet power could provide even close results achieved in 20 years of Putin's rule.

In the USSR, during the harvest season, every day they talked about the progress of the harvest. Favorite programs of the Soviet people "Rural Hour" and "Perestroika Searchlight" showed in prime time how the country "is fighting for the harvest." It's sad that now this is not. But the former Soviet people should not be deprived of their favorite entertainment, writes blogger Gloriaputina.

The new forecast for the harvest in Russia rose to 127.5 - 129 million tons due to the increase in the forecast for the harvest of wheat to 81 million tons. This is the second result in the history of Russia.

And what has never happened, for the first time, as the harvest progresses, the grain yield rises. A month ago, it was 32.3 q / ha. Now it is already 34.7 q / ha. Of course, then the northern regions with low yields will come into play, where the wheat ripens later. But even with a future fall, for the first time in the history of Russia, the yield will exceed 30 centners / ha.

The communists caught up with the average tsarist 7.5 centners / ha. only at the beginning of Khrushchev's reign. The so-called state farms and collective farms did not help in any way in increasing the yield. Then there were four revolutions in agriculture. Fertilization, pesticide application, reclamation and irrigation. All this together, added 10 c / ha, bringing the yield to the average, 17 c / ha at the end of the 80s. Putin gained an additional 10 centners / ha, in just 20 years, while the communists were busy for 73 years. More than 30 c. from ha. this is a new, qualitatively different level of yield. But we still have a revolution in agriculture called precision farming, new varieties bred by geneticists, vertical farms. Well, global warming will make a significant contribution.
