People notice a sharp rise in prices due to "psychological perception", Nabiullina said.

The head of the Central Bank admitted that she buys groceries online with delivery.

"Indeed, it happened (the average check once a week increased more than the indicator of general inflation). I will not name the numbers, but this is more than what we see in the general inflation indicators”, - the official said in an interview with the Fanimani YouTube channel.

She explained that average check and general inflation are different. For example, services are not included in the average bill.

"In the general indicator of price inflation, now 27% are services. Our services did not rise in price for a long time. Then, during the pandemic ... a number of services were not provided, there was no demand, and this is included in the inflation rate", - said the head of the Central Bank.

In addition, Nabiullina pointed out, there are "different indicators of price increases", and "food prices, naturally, increased - and this is evident from the statistics - more than the general inflation rate".

- When your prices have risen for something strongly, you react to it. You do not notice the goods, the prices for which are stable - rice, dairy products, tea, coffee. There is a group of goods for which the rise in prices is much less than inflation, we do not notice this. This is such a psychological perception ... This gap between perception and real inflation, of course, is now large, - she believes.

Earlier, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade talked about the acceleration of annual inflation to 7.63%. According to Rosstat, weekly inflation in the country slowed down to 0.22% from October 5 to October 11. Consumer prices have increased by 5.71% since the beginning of the year. According to the ministry, during the reporting period, prices for fruits and vegetables increased by an average of 1.8%. Prices for potatoes increased by 4.35%, cucumbers - by 10.85%, tomatoes - by 9.66%, cabbage - by 0.17%.
