Due to the rise in prices for raw materials, packaging materials and transportation, bakeries will have to raise prices by 7-12 percent for finished products starting from August 2021.

According to Kommersant, margarine has grown in price by 38%, packaging - by 40%, sugar - by 9%.

Representatives of several bakeries unofficially confirmed to the publication the indexation of wholesale prices for products. As the head of the Russian Union of Bakers Alexei Lyalin pointed out, all types of raw materials for bread production have risen in price several times, and the cost of the bread itself grows only by a ruble year by year.

At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture does not see the prerequisites for a rise in the price of bread and even speaks of a reduction in the cost of raw materials.
