Putin signed a decree on payments on external public debt in rubles

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree establishing a new temporary procedure for payments on the country's foreign currency debt.
It is noted that obligations under Eurobonds are considered fulfilled if the funds were transferred in rubles in an amount equivalent in foreign currency. Payment is made at the rate on the Russian foreign exchange market, the document says.
A ruble account of type “I” will be opened in the name of the foreign depository. Personal presence is not required.
The presidential decree has come into force.
