Russian citizens now prefer to rent goods intended for children

Russian citizens do not have money for new toys and children's goods - they are increasingly being rented. The market has changed. Large foreign brands (Lego, Zara Kids, H&M Next, Mothercare, etc.) left Russia, prices skyrocketed against the backdrop of a shortage. According to the calculations of the State Duma deputies, children's clothes and shoes have risen in price by almost 300%, according to Komsomolskaya Pravda.

Many families see no other way out than to rent the right product. Although, according to market representatives, people of the middle class and above show the greatest interest.

So that customers do not feel too flawed, the service was given a fashionable name - "sharing" (from the English share - to share).

In 60% of cases, goods like a balance bike, a bicycle or a car seat are taken for a month, toys for a week. Ecologists see this as a prospect and say that 80% of plastic toys end up in the trash and are not recycled.

The most popular product is medical scales for infants. Their rent for a week costs parents an average of 500 rubles. Carrying backpacks, goods for newborns, strollers and car seats are also in the top, the newspaper writes.

In addition to rent, users are offered a paid subscription: a monthly amount from 2 to 10 thousand rubles is paid, goods can be constantly changed. The price depends on the number of things and their purpose. A subscription is about 6 times cheaper than a regular lease, a market representative told KP.

In the event of damage to the goods, the parents will fully compensate for its price. Some services offer insurance.

“Look, pawnshops and commission shops will soon begin to re-profile...”, - sums up the popular blogger Alexander “Stalingulag” Gorbunov.
