International air traffic has been suspended in the country since the end of March due to the coronavirus epidemic. But these prohibitions, apparently, are not meant for Aeroflot.

Pandemic

Since June, the airline continues to operate exclusive flights from Moscow to major cities around the world: to Frankfurt, Paris, London, New York, Seoul and Tel Aviv.

At first, flights to these cities were only once a week, from the second week of June, their regularity increased to twice a week, now flights have been added to the schedule once a week to Nice and twice a week to Rome and Barcelona, Vedomosti writes. with reference to representatives of Russian airlines.

According to the publication, all these flights are not charter, they are operated on a regular basis. Ticket sales for such flights appear only a week before the planned date of travel. These exclusive flights are not advertised in any way; passengers will learn about the availability of such flights from friends. The demand for such flights during the period of restrictions is high, the source said, adding that the most capacious liners are put up for such flights - up to 400 passengers on board.

Tickets can only be purchased by a person who has citizenship or a residence permit of the country in which the flight takes place. According to the representative of Aeroflot, it is possible to fly on such flights only from Russia, return tickets have not yet been implemented, since the borders of Russia are still closed. According to the publication, tickets for such limited flights are extremely expensive. A flight without luggage to Rome, for example, will cost an average of 17-35 thousand rubles, you can fly to Nice for 25 thousand one way, a flight to Barcelona now will cost 18 thousand.

Moreover, Aeroflot itself, as noted earlier, did not return money to ordinary passengers even for those flights that the airline itself canceled during the quarantine period. As compensation, Russians are offered vouchers for future trips. You can use them during the year.

Since June 8, Russia has allowed Russians to fly abroad to look after elderly or sick relatives, to go to work or study. The government is also considering the possibility of opening borders with some European countries, with Turkey, China and South Korea since mid-July. But part of these plans can be corrected, as it was recently noted that in China there is a new outbreak of the epidemic in the areas of Beijing and its surrounding cities. Earlier on Thursday, the Federal Air Transport Agency proposed resuming part of flights from Russia with CIS countries.

Air travel around the world has already recovered by 65% . However, despite the gradual restoration of flights between the countries, air communications with Russia have not yet been restored due to the high number of cases in the country. Russia is on the third line in the world in the number of cases of coronavirus infection since the beginning of the epidemic, only the USA and Brazil are ahead.
