A doctor from the Pavlovsk district hospital in the Voronezh region, Yelena Minakova, died because of COVID-19. She worked with patients with the coronavirus and became infected by them. In 2014 she was oficially recognized as the best therapist of Russia.

Since the beginning of the spread of the epidemic, more than 8.5 thousand people have become ill, about 6.2 thousand have been able to recover, 54 patients have died from complications. In terms of the spread of the new virus, the region is on the tenth position in Russia. According to the press service of the administration, the coefficient of the spread of the virus in the region reaches 0.84. Free hospital bed capacity is 38.8%, the number of beds is reduced due to the re-profiling of hospitals for the purposes of the planned hospitalization.
