The prison officer on duty was detained after the escape of five prisoners

As a law enforcement source told Interfax, the officer on duty was accused of transferring one of them to a cell with his comrades shortly before the escape of the prisoners, with whom he subsequently escaped from the IVS.

Earlier it became known that at least one overseer could be involved in the escape, who not only helped them escape, but also developed an escape plan.

The incident in the isolation ward took place on the night of August 6. Aleksandr Mavridi, Ivan Turcanu, Aleksandr Butnaru, Denis Grozavu and Nikolai Teterya escaped from the temporary detention facility. They opened the lock on the camera with a wrench. Two more inmates refused to escape. Now they are being interrogated by the police.

After the escape of the prisoners, the Investigative Committee opened two criminal cases. The police sent all their forces to capture the fugitives.

Mavridi is accused of the murder of the head of the "Meat Empire" Vladimir Marugov last year, four other escaped - in a series of thefts. All of them come from Moldova.
