Dry cargo ship Xing Yua ran aground near the Kholmsk embankment in the south-west of the Sakhalin region. Rescuers remove the crew from the board using a rope.

"The operation to evacuate the crew from the ship has begun. The sailors are lowered to the shore with the help of a cable stretched from the car on the shore to the ship", - Interfax quotes the words of representatives of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Rospotrebnadzor specialists are employed at the evacuation site.

According to local media reports, the sailors will be accommodated at the observatory.

The divers of the Marine Rescue Service will begin to inspect the vessel. They will carry out work on measuring the depth of the fairway, and after that a plan of further actions will be developed.

For preventive purposes, booms will be installed around the vessel. There are currently no fuel leaks.
