According to the regional traffic police department, the driver of the UAZ, owned by the regional department, did not take into account the road conditions when driving. As a result, the car skidded and crashed into an oncoming MAN. The driver and passenger of the UAZ died from their injuries on the spot.

The press service of the regional government specified that the doctors were returning from a business trip to Dolinsk.

"A road traffic accident in the south of Sakhalin today claimed the lives of a doctor from the regional pathological bureau and an ambulance driver. They returned to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk from the Dolinsky Central Regional Hospital after completing the medical assignment”, - it was reported.

The head of the Sakhalin Region Valery Limarenko expressed condolences to the families of the victims.
