In one of the Moscow pharmacies on Plyushchikha, in a line for medical masks, an unidentified man beat up a senior researcher at the Institute of General History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 82-year-old Vladislav Nazarov (pictured).

As a result of the beating, an elderly scientist ended up in a hospital with a brain hemorrhage.

The incident took place on the evening of March 31 due to a conflict over a place in the queue.

According to the website of the Vesti television program, Nazarov took the turn, and he walked away to check if other ticket offices are working. When the pensioner returned, another visitor of the pharmacy was already standing in front of him at the cash register.

According to the historian, he tried to explain the situation, but "was knocked out." It is reported that the pensioner tried to defend himself, but was so aggressively attacked that he fell down, hitting his head on the counter.

As a result, Vladislav Nazarov was taken in the intensive care with a brain hemorrhage and a broken face. Two days later he was transferred to a general ward.

Nazarov is the author of numerous articles for the Great Russian Encyclopedia.

The attacker was detained and interrogated, but at the moment he remains at large.

According to RIA Novosti , investigators are checking information about the beating. Based on the results of the audit, a procedural decision will be made, the agency was informed in the investigative committee.

"
