Investigative Committee began checking on the fact of a fire on a trawler in the Sea of Okhotsk

In the hold, in the trawler's utility room, a corrugated container caught fire. The crew managed to localize its smoldering on its own. The victim is not.

Now investigators are conducting a due diligence.

"On the fact of a fire on a fishing vessel, a procedural check was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation", - says the message of the Far Eastern SU in the transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

It is known that the ship Ahtiar was built in 1985, it sails under the flag of Russia. The shipowner is OOO Fish Processing Plant Ostrovnoy, Sakhalin Region.
