Emergency mode was introduced in Kazan due to the fire at gas distribution station
On the night of June 13, an explosion occurred at a gas distribution station in Kazan, as a result of which a person died, two more were hospitalized with moderate injuries. According to the Ministry of Emergencies, one of the tanks caught fire after an explosion in the control room.
The fire at the gas distribution station has been going on for several hours, about 200 specialists and almost 60 pieces of equipment are taking part in the fire. In the fight against fire, containers are spilled with water, the Russia 24 television channel reports.
Rescuers reported no threat to the population, since the station is located outside residential areas.
Now the tank with liquefied gas continues to burn, firefighters protect neighboring tanks from fire. As TASS was informed by the Ministry of Emergencies in Tatarstan, the flame has already decreased, the pressure in the tank has dropped. The fire is assigned the fourth difficulty rank out of five possible.
Doctors assess the condition of two injured employees of the station in 1984 and 1997 as stable, of moderate severity. According to RIA Novosti in the Ministry of Health of Tatarstan, they were taken to the hospital with burns of 10 and 15 percent of the body.
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on violation of safety rules at explosive facilities, the prosecutor's office of the Moscow district of Kazan began an audit.
According to the publication Inkazan.ru, the incident occurred a few hundred meters from one of the largest chemical enterprises in Russia - PJSC Kazanorgsintez, a member of TAIF Group of Companies.
The gas base is a branch of OOO Gazprom Liquefied Gas. The head of the facility in the SPARK-Interfax system is Ravil Siraziev, the organization is marked as inactive. The CEO of the parent company is Leonid Ivanov.
