Security officials in Moscow visit the visitors of Navalny's websites

According to Kommersant, citing data from human rights activists OVD-Info, more than 20 cases of visits by security officials are now known. The police seem to be visiting the addresses from the Anti-Corruption Foundation * database, which became publicly available after the leak.

"The police asked to explain the donations to the fund and write a statement against Alexei Navalny for the illegal transfer of personal data", - the message says.

Among the addressees of the police rounds are famous people, including Novaya Gazeta correspondent Ilya Azar. On his Facebook page, Azar said that people in civilian clothes, who introduced themselves as police officers, came to him when he was not at home. They told the neighbors that they had come in a case involving "identity theft."

A similar statement was made by the former head of Navalny's election headquarters, Leonid Volkov. According to him, on the evening of August 17, security officials made a round of dozens of addresses in Moscow: they pounded on doors, called phones, and behaved in a threatening manner.

“They frightened me. What did you want? They offered people to “recognize themselves as victims of the actions of the FBK” in connection with the leak of personal data”, - Volkov said.

He called the actions of the security forces "terror" aimed at intimidating citizens, planning to participate in "smart voting" and not hiding their political views. According to Volkov, not a single person agreed to yield to the demands of the police and write a statement.

Leak of personal data from the site "Freedom to Navalny!" happened in April this year. As follows from the data of FBK investigators *, former employee of the fund Fyodor Gorozhanko may be involved in organizing the leak. At the same time, Gorozhanko himself denied information about his involvement in the hacking.

As it became known on August 11, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation brought a new charge against opposition leader Alexei Navalny. He is suspected of creating an organization that "infringed upon the personality and rights of citizens." We are talking about FBK *, which was previously recognized as extremist, and also included in the list of foreign agents. The organization has now been liquidated.

Against Navalny, another criminal case was opened under article 239 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - the creation of a non-profit organization that infringes upon the personality and rights of citizens. The maximum punishment under this article is up to three years in prison with a fine of 200 thousand rubles.

According to the investigation, Navalny created a non-profit organization in 2011, whose activities were associated with “encouraging citizens to commit illegal acts,” according to a message on the website of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

The siloviki say that together with Ivan Zhdanov, Leonid Volkov and other supporters, Navalny circulated on the Internet calls for participation in rallies in January this year. At the same time, Navalny and his supporters knew that these rallies were illegal and not coordinated with the authorities. The Investigative Committee believes that the oppositionist realized that this would be followed by administrative responsibility for all participants in the uncoordinated action, the ministry said in a statement.

We will remind, in January this year, rallies in support of the arrested opposition leader Alexei Navalny swept across the country. The rallies continued in February after a Moscow court changed Navalny's suspended sentence to a real one in the Yves Rocher case.
