The area of forest fires in Yakutia is decreasing. Currently, they no longer threaten settlements, said Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, citing data from the Ministry of Emergencies.

"The leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that there is no more danger for settlements. Fires today are 10 kilometers and further from settlements," he said. He is quoted by Interfax.

Earlier, the Emergencies Ministry reported that the situation with fires in the region is stabilizing . Over the past day, 14 more fires were extinguished. Their area reached 37 thousand hectares. In extinguishing the fire involved over 4.2 thousand people and 759 pieces of equipment. Now in the territory of the region there are 139 hotbeds of wildfires.

Recall that earlier, due to fires in the region , an emergency mode was introduced at an interregional level. The smoke from the fire of the Yakut fires has reached the Arctic scientific stations and can reach Moscow, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Yevgeny Zinichev previously predicted. Fires in the region are associated with global warming and established in the region abnormally hot weather .
