“They don’t throw at people yet, but this is only for the time being...” Wolves terrorize the Pskov region

The online edition Takie Dela publishes material of the Pskov journalist Lyudmila Savitskaya (the author is recognized as performing the functions of a foreign agent - editor's note) about wolves that have become active in the depressed Pskov region. Over the past three years, residents of various municipalities have regularly complained about raids by predators.

Because of them, a completely new group of wolves appeared in Russia - synanthropic. These are predators that live off humans. And they walk not only in the Pskov region, but throughout the North-West.

Meanwhile, the State Committee for Nature Management and Environmental Protection of the region reports on the regular shooting of wolves in the region: within the framework of the state program for the development of forestry, a remuneration of 10 thousand rubles is paid for each killed wolf. Apparently, gray predators breed faster than they are destroyed.
