The search operation on Elbrus, where 19 climbers who were at an altitude of 5,400 meters the day before requested the help of rescuers, has been completed. 14 people were found alive, five died.

The head of the department for Kabardino-Balkaria, Mikhail Nadezhkin, told TASS that the rescued climbers received serious frostbite. Some of them also have fractures. The head of the KBR Rustam Kalibatov noted that the condition of eight climbers is assessed as moderately heavy.
