The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for St. Petersburg opened a criminal case on the fact of an explosion in the entrance of a nine-story building on Tovarishchesky Prospekt.

The incident is being investigated in accordance with Part 3 of Art. 30, paragraph "e" part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - Attempted murder committed in a generally dangerous way.

“According to the investigation, on the night of April 24-25, 2022, near an apartment located on the 8th floor in one of the houses on Tovarishchesky Prospekt, there was a bang, presumably firecrackers, as a result of which windows and doors in the front door were damaged, as well as parked cars from falling window fragments. There were no casualties as a result of the incident", - the ministry's press service said.

At the moment, investigations are underway to clarify the circumstances of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.

An Interfax source said that a conflict in the prankster community could have been the cause of the incident: according to this version, an unidentified object was planted under the door of a tenant who had previously been in the community, which later exploded.

“There is information that the man living in this apartment was previously in the prankster community, and recently he received threats from his comrades. Law enforcement agencies are checking whether there is a connection between what happened and this information, ”said the agency’s interlocutor.

Earlier it was reported that an explosion on the landing at the entrance of the house led to damage in the building. 66 people were evacuated to temporary settlements.
