Four people died in the crash of a Mi-8 helicopter in Chukotka

Helicopter of one of the law enforcement institutions made a hard landing in the Chukchi airport and caught fire, reports Interfax referring to an informed source. According to the interlocutor of the agency, the cause of the disaster could be technical malfunctions during the test after maintenance.

The incident occurred due to a malfunction detected at a height of 30 meters, - the source said.

The county government also told TASS that the cause was aircraft malfunctions.

According to RIA Novosti, the helicopter fell from a height of 15 meters. He made a control hover - he checked the engine in the air before sending it out to complete a task.
