The Sevastopol City Court sentenced Russian woman Galina Dovgopolaya to 12 years in prison. She was accused of treason. The court found that she was passing classified information to Ukrainian intelligence.

As the court's press service clarified , a 65-year-old Russian woman from Bakhchisarai was collecting secret information about one aviation regiment of the Black Sea Fleet, in particular, the call signs of the military of this regiment, the frequencies they use in their work, as well as encryption keys. All this information belongs to the state secret, and their transfer may threaten the national security of the country.

The case was considered behind closed doors, since it contained information belonging to the state secret.

The Russian woman will serve her punishment in a general regime colony. Until the verdict has entered into legal force, it can be appealed.

Earlier, Karina Turcan, former top manager of Inter RAO, was accused of spying for Moldova. She was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
