The French Air Investigation Agency reported a recent incident on board an Air France A320. During the Geneva-Paris flight, the crew commander slapped the co-pilot for failing to comply with the command. Fighters had to be separated by stewardesses.

As the Al Jazeera TV channel reported, despite the fistfight, the flight continued, and the liner with 200 passengers landed safely at the airport in the French capital. Both pilots have been suspended and are under investigation.

The journalists of the newspaper La Tribune found out that the pilots quarreled immediately after takeoff. They grabbed each other by the breasts, and then one of them hit the other. Passions on board the A320 were in full swing until the end of the flight. One of the flight attendants was forced to stay in the cockpit until the end of the flight.

Reports of the fight came after the French air investigation agency BEA released a report saying some Air France pilots "lack discipline and strict adherence to safety protocols."

This is not the first known case of a fight between Air France pilots during a flight, the website FrequentFlyers.ru recalls. In February 2020, a flight from Paris to Moscow was delayed for several hours due to the fact that the pilots got into a fight while taxiing on the runway, and the crew had to be urgently replaced.

However, fight scandals on board passenger aircraft have also occurred in other airlines. In 2018, the commander and co-pilot of an Iraqi Airways plane flying from Mashhad to Baghdad got into a fight. They didn't share lunch. It turns out that pilots are always given different sets of in-flight meals to reduce the risk of poisoning two pilots at the same time if something goes wrong with the food. So they grappled over a cutlet and a side dish.
