Ministry of Internal Affairs: fatal traffic accident in Crimea happened due to the fault of the minibus driver

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the republic. After inspecting the scene of the incident, the inspectors are inclined to believe that the driver fell asleep while driving and therefore crashed into a truck standing on the side of the road.

According to the latest information provided by Vesti, the driver himself was killed. Seven of the 14 passengers of the minibus also died. The identities of the victims are established by investigators. Four victims, including a pregnant woman, required medical assistance.

It is also reported that the driver was sober, but drove for a long time without stopping along the way. The regional GSUSK reported that the minibus was traveling from Krasnodar.

The prosecutor's office began checking the implementation of the road safety legislation by the carrier.
