Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the friendship of the two countries: Ukraine and the United States is directed against Russia.

This is regrettable, since military assistance to Ukraine from the United States could negatively affect the conflict in Donbass, the presidential press secretary said. He added that there is not a word about the implementation of the Minsk agreements in the statements of the two countries.

"The Russian theme was on the agenda of the American-Ukrainian talks. Unfortunately, mostly with a minus sign. Rather, in simple terms, it is about the Ukrainian-American friendship against Russia. That is, they are friends not for themselves, but against Russia", - the press secretary of the president commented on the meeting of the Ukrainian and American leaders. His words are quoted by TASS.

Let us remind you that the talks between the two presidents took place on the night of September 1–2. The meeting took place at the White House. It lasted about two hours. As a result of this meeting, it was decided to allocate $ 463 million to Ukraine to support democracy, human rights, and decentralization. Another $ 60 million was allocated for security assistance, $ 12.8 million for the fight against coronavirus and $ 45 million in humanitarian assistance due to the conflict in Donbass. In addition, the presidents of the two countries discussed the implementation of the Russian Nord Stream 2 project in Europe, calling it a threat to Europe's energy security. For Ukraine, this project is not profitable because Russia will be able to supply gas bypassing this country. For the United States, the project is also not profitable because the country is interested in the supply of its gas to Europe.
