Nine Russian companies come under new US sanctions

According to the document posted in the US Federal Register, Chimmed Group, Chimconnect GmbH, Chimconnect AG, Pharmkontract GmbH, Femteco, Interlab, LabInvest, OOO Analit Products, OOO Intertech Instruments, Pharmcontract GC, Rau Farm, Regionsnab and Riol-Chemie were sanctioned. In addition, the restrictions were extended to the 27th Scientific Center of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (TsNII-27).

The agency has introduced requirements for obtaining licenses for export, re-export and transfer of a number of goods to companies that have come under sanctions.

The ministry points out that such measures will make sure that American products will not be used in activities that threaten US national security and foreign policy interests.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced the restriction of defense exports to Russia as part of the sanctions due to the situation with the Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

The Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), in turn, clarified that American weapons are not being supplied to Russia, and therefore the announcement by Washington of sanctions applicable to the export of weapons "is puzzling", TASS reports.

It's worth reminding that on the eve of the European Union imposed sanctions against the Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov, as well as a number of high-ranking Russian officials, sanctions due to the arrest of Navalny.

We will remind, Navalny was arrested in January on his return from Germany, where the politician was undergoing treatment. On February 2, the court replaced his suspended sentence with a real one. Taking into account the sentence served, he will have to stay in the colony for another two and a half years.
